Asahi BEER

I've decided to go with Asahi beer for project 1.
They have 3 types of beer (can and bottle)

not much info on their site but it has a very hip, urban style to it unique to its main competitors Saporro and Kirin. the site reminds me of the scion marketing campaign and seems to be targeting 21- 30 year olds.

It would be interesting to convert this traditionally japanese brand into the "Party" beer

MAL

i went to whole foods and checked out some packaging that could easily be improved.
i tried to pick products that were not on other blogs.

i would eat these yams. . .         if the year was 1965!
this jar had really cool, honeycomb like texture to the glass and the lid also had the same pattern printed on it.   this wasn't as bad as some of the others but i think if the label was redone (more "organic" looking)  it could be really nice and would sell more.

sorry, more honey but this label looked so generic, so rectangle, so boring.

Bien Packaging

here are some links i think everyone should check out tons of great design, and great source of inspiration.

these were a few of my favorite 3.

the display pencil is actually holing the package closed.  very well done. love the look and the materials.

this is a before and after.  very clean look. switched to glass which is suppose to be "greener".  maintain the brand identity while greatly improving the products appearance.  i would pay like 1.50 for the can and 3.00 easily for the bottle.
this last one is awesome. just look at it.
