conceptualizing: Irish Spring

i was going for shapes that were more masculine as well as easier to hold and use.
first was a representation of an axe head. i thought that shape would be really interesting.
second implies the shape of a gold brick without being obvious.
third was just a different shape i came up with but i don't think it will work.

logo. i wanted to abbreviate brand kind of like what treasure island did in vegas. they took an old name and image that was very specific and made it fresh and cool turning it into TI.
i think irish spring doesn't speak to the consumer like it did when it started. to capture peoples attention the brand must evolve into a hip cool brand that targets their audience.

feedback.... thanx

I am really liking the pillow pack idea and the logo treatment on it. Makes it look much more clean and smooth while keeping an edge.

The gold brick idea would really make IS stand apart from its competition, cool idea. Abbreviating the name could work but I think that it is important to have the full name on there somewhere for their loyal customers. The shiny gold will already attract new buyers.

The "I S" overlapping looks like a $ sign to me. Not sure if that's the way to go. Interesting packaging ideas though.

I like what is going on for #2 and #3 from the right column but not too sure about the logo. It reminds me of the symbol of money. =)

I like your gold bar and axe structure (but why an axe?). As for your logo, I think that the I-S could work, but have a thicker serif font...
I like the third design - very clean, simple, easy to read what's what.

the axe shape is the most ergonomic and easy to hold. I like your idea to use "I" "S" it would update the image of the product.

For logos did you try using a big blocky character "i" with an "s" as the tittle(the dot) ?

For another soap bar shape maybe an abstract "S" shape with a an "I" carved into it.

The gold brick is kinda cool, would tie into the whole pot of gold Irish thing.

I think a simple box layout like the first box idea would work best if you could get a solid logo down.

ill have to play with type choices but the $ logo was intentional ... but now i don't know if thats a good thing or not. i though it would imply that through the brick idea. thanx for all the feed back if you have more ideas feel free to post em here
